Register hereUpon being discharged from hospital after your operation you will, or at least should have, been supplied with the products and accessories that you require. However, it can sometimes be unclear as to how to continue obtaining your prescription afterwards.
Where can I obtain my prescription?
You should have also been given the contact details for the supply company and your stoma nurse will have given you a list of the products and their relevant order code with which to obtain future prescriptions from your GP, unless of course these are given directly to the GP or surgery. In all cases, you will be required to obtain a prescription before picking up orders from a chemist or through a supply company, such as ourselves.
Prescription Charges – What will I have to pay?
Ostomates who have a permanent stoma and live within the UK are entitled to apply for a Medical Exemption (MedEx) certificate, entitling them to free prescriptions. However, those with a temporary stoma will have to pay for prescription charges unless other circumstances apply, such as:
