Nurses Day 2018 – Celebrating Stoma Care Nurses

As 12th May marks Nurses Day 2018 this year, we wanted to take the opportunity to show our respect and celebrate the fantastic SCN’s who show incredible patience and care all year round.

Stoma care nurses have an incredibly difficult job helping patients through the stoma surgery process, right through to rehabilitation and beyond. They not only prepare patients, they also teach them to manage their stoma independently and are on hand to help with care services long after surgery.

It’s important that we acknowledge this dedication, not just on a single day, but all year round. Many work long, hard shifts week in, week out to ensure that patients get the right level of care during what can be a traumatic experience. We encourage everyone to take the time to thank their SCN or to appreciate the incredible work they do.
